Pantothenic acid

Pantothenic acid and its roles:

  • Formation and degradation of fatty acids
  • Control of energy metabolism
  • Steroid hormones formation
  • Regulation and formation of neurotransmitters

Pantothenic acid and its salts are affected by heat, particularly in a moist environment. As you know, TWYDIL® always manufactures its products under a controlled environment in order to protect the vitamin content.

The most important function of this vitamin is linked to its co-enzyme activity in acetylation reactions. It is an essential part of coenzyme A.

Depending on the physiological status of the horse, the needs range from 10 to 50 mg of pantothenic acid a day.
