Home / Anti-doping Control
TWYDIL® is the only product range in which every batch undergoes an overall screening at the LCH (the reference anti-doping laboratory of the International Federation of Equestrian Sports) before release. Such a screening targets any of the thousands of prohibited substances that might unexpectedly occur in a horse’s urine or blood following the absorption of products from the batch.
It is the user’s responsibility to conform to the directives of the local competent authorities presiding over his region or country. Concerning some ingredients of our formulas, the national regulations may change independently from the FEI rules and Racing Rules.
LCH Searches for Contaminants in the Final Product
LCH checks that, even at the limits of detection, the final product is free from all the 12 natural contaminants (morphine, atropine, bufotenin, caffeine, theophylline, theobromine, scopolamine, methylbufotenin, dimethyltriptamine, hordenine, thebaine, codeine) for which vigilance must be maximum because of their possible presence in feed ingredients.
Horse Fed with an Overage of the Final Product
An agreed Laboratory follows a strict and precise protocol quality control experiment (specific for each product). Under this protocol, the Laboratory gives a horse 3 times the normal dosage of the product for a minimum of 3 days. Samples of urine and blood are taken and sent to LCH.
LCH Analyses the Urine and Blood of the Horse
LCH submits the urine and blood to a complete screening for all the prohibited substances (stimulants, analgesics, narcotics, anabolic steroids, beta-blockers and diuretics).
Samples Sealed
A sealed urine sample is kept refrigerated by the Laboratory for one year beyond the expiry date of the product and TWYDIL® keeps in Switzerland a sealed sample of the final product for the same period.
