Glycyrrhizic acid
AT A GLANCE:
Glycyrrhizic acid and its roles:
- Support gastro-intestinal well-being
- Helps regulate inflammation
- Good effect on the immune system
- Phyto-corticoid action

This saponin is extracted from the root of a plant, Glycyrrhiza glabra, also called liquorice or in Chinese Gan cao.
This adaptogenic molecule has always been widely used in Japan. An adaptogen "increases the body resistance to a broad spectrum of harmful factors- stressors- of different physical, chemical or biological natures. While causing a minimum of toxic reaction, an adaptogen acts on the non specific regulation of several organs and physiological functions".
Nearly 700 publications confirm the interesting properties of glycyrrhizic acid.
