Berberine

It is an isoquinone alkaloid, extracted from several plant roots, such as Hydrastis canadensis, commonly known as "Goldenseal".
This molecule tends to prevent micro-organisms adhering to their host cells. That is why it is recommended in case of bacterial infection.
